First Wave Vs. Third Wave Feminism
First Wave Feminism started in the late 18th century, early 19th century. Many people say that the convention in Seneca Falls, in 1848 began the women's rights movement.

Third Wave Feminism began in the 1970's. It began with a women named Rebecca Walker who put a news article in Ms. Magazine that explained why women should fight for their reproductive rights.
|
First Wave Feminism was mainly when women were fighting for their right to vote and have a part in government. Women during this time were also abolitionists and were involved with making alcohol illegal. Third Wave Feminism is trying to advance women's role in society. They are now focusing on women having a choice with abortion and reproductive rights. First Wave Feminism did not touch upon those subjects at all.
